Virtuagym COVID Pass Integration

Enables gyms and studios to securely and efficiently check a customer’s COVID-19 status and manage access

Launched following the increasing introduction of safety measures in the fitness industry

Integration is with Virtuagym’s pre-existing Check-in feature, as part of its All-in-One Fitness Management Software Solution

12th November 2021, Amsterdam, Netherlands

Virtuagym, a global provider of fitness technology for coaching, member engagement, and club management, has today launched its COVID Pass Integration.

The feature allows fitness businesses to efficiently and securely check a customer’s COVID-19 status each time they enter their facility, whilst simultaneously helping them to manage access levels. Through a single scan of a client’s International COVID-19 QR code, a fitness club can check an individual’s vaccination and test status, as well as match the information with their member database.

The product has been launched now so that fitness businesses can continue to run as normally as possible in the case of any new COVID-19 access rules, following the increasing introduction of specific industry regulations by national governments.

The adaptation to any such rules is aided by the QR code feature being integrated within Virtuagym’s existing Check-in technology, as part of its industry-leading All-in-One Fitness Management Software Solution. The integration is currently available for EU clubs, with it soon to be launched in non-EU countries.

The increase in access measures is naturally a setback for our industry, but we hope that the launch of our integrated QR Code feature will allow fitness businesses to safely and securely comply with industry regulations and focus on what they do best - running their business and engaging with customers,’ said Hugo Braam, CEO and Co-Founder of Virtuagym. “By integrating it with our existing Check-in solution, we hope it will provide a time, resource and cost efficient way to overcome any challenges caused by current or future regulations.”

The automated procedure is designed to be time and resource efficient, with two validations in a one step process and the removal of the need for an extra staff member to check each person’s COVID-19 status. Furthermore, the integration comes without any additional cost for those already benefiting from the Virtuagym Check-in solution, although they can also use alternative means of client verification should they wish to. The data gathered provides a complete overview of all visitors in case of an inspection, with no data from the QR codes kept by Virtuagym, to ensure compliance with privacy regulations.

The blend of digital and physical services has become increasingly important for the fitness industry in the past year and a half, with recent Virtuagym customer data demonstrating that a quarter of global fitness businesses are now providing hybrid online and offline solutions to appeal to clients.

This is yet another example of how technology is able to provide invaluable support to fitness businesses during this difficult period for the industry”, furthered Hugo Braam, “This has ranged from improving the management of gym-floor access, to enhancing internal processes and delivering new methods of engagement outside of the four walls of their facilities.”
