Start2Move, market leader in educational training for the Dutch fitness, sports and health industry, has today announced Virtuagym, global provider of the leading All-in-One health and fitness software solution, as its Official Digital Partner for coaching and training.
The partnership offers students in the Netherlands the opportunity to use Virtuagym’s innovative digital coaching solutions for free as part of their courses, enabling them to become better equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary for the increasingly digital fitness and health industry.
The collaboration with Virtuagym further enhances the courses and individual guidance offered by Start2Move’s flexible study options. The students will gain experience in areas such as 24/7 coaching, digital workout planning via a workout editor linked to over 6,000 exercises, wearable connectivity and progress monitoring using hundreds of available metrics, nutrition tracking and methods for building client engagement and motivation.
This fits with Start2Move’s vision to help its students to not only gain a qualification but lay strong foundations for a sustainable and thriving career. To date, 72,000 Dutch fitness and health professionals have started their careers with Start2Move.

The support of Start2Move is part of Virtuagym’s wider European strategy to work with educational institutes in order to make technology more accessible for fitness trainers beginning their careers. By introducing students to a range of digital tools at this stage in their development, Virtuagym aims to empower the next generation of fitness professionals to effectively utilise technology. For example, as a way to provide more personalised coaching inside and outside of a gym and to improve the general efficiency with which they work. Earlier this year Virtuagym also announced a partnership with the Deutscher Fitness- und Aerobic Verband e.V (DFAV), the oldest German non-profit association for fitness education.

At present, Start2Move offers up to 78 different in-person and online training courses, ranging from fitness to vitality and business management. The partnership will see Virtuagym support their Fitness Trainer B Course, a follow-up to the Fitness Trainer A Foundation Course. In this more in-depth course students focus on one-to-one and small group training, behavioural change through coaching and medium and long-term planning (periodization).
The coaching software offered by Virtuagym has been further enhanced by the recent launch of AI Coach. This is an intuitive product driven by Artificial Intelligence that creates tailored workouts for users based on their specific requirements and is connected with other Virtuagym features. It will soon be available for trainers, health clubs and corporate businesses already using Virtuagym software.
