How to clear blocked chakras

The chakras, as a brief introduction, are pools of swirling energy found at seven different points along the body from the base of the spine to the very top of your head. These energy pools are responsible for maintaining balance within the body between your mental, emotional, spiritual and even physical health.

Each of the chakras influence different areas of your life from your behaviour and response to certain situations to the way you interact with others, and even the amount of abundance in your life. And, as I’m sure you’ve heard before, your chakras can become blocked, meaning negative energy is stopping them from functioning at their optimum levels.

For you this means negative emotions like fear, worry, or lack appear, and hardships in life, in health, in happiness and in prosperity can ensue.

Symptoms of blocked chakras

If one or more of your chakras are blocked, you might find you have difficulty focusing or concentrating, issues with falling asleep or staying asleep, find yourself lacking inspiration or motivation, feelings of helplessness, issues in your personal relationships, have a hard time expressing yourself and your emotions, or some combination of all of the above.

This is by no means an exhaustive list, but does include some of the most common feelings and symptoms related to blocked or unbalanced chakras.

What happens when you open all your chakras? When you clear blocked chakras you release trapped energy. You will feel that energy can flow through your body and mind, and becomes finally balanced.

Tips for balancing the chakras

Luckily, properly taking care of and strengthening our chakras can help us deal with these issues, welcome more success and stability into our lives and let our energy flow freely again.

A little self-exploration into our feelings and into the things we’re telling ourselves subconsciously can clear up which chakras might be blocked and affecting our external reality. It’s time to balance, unblock and strengthening the chakras.

Aligning and strengthening the chakras can bring prosperity through the people it brings into your life, the events and situations you find yourself in, the opportunities that present themselves, and the ideas that become planted in your brain, all because of the energy you are both putting out as well as attracting.

  • Start with diaphragmatic breathing

Deep belly breathing with intention is a great place to start as it is one of the easiest ways to bring your chakras back into balance.

To restore your chakras with deep breathing, inhale and focus on directing all of the energy within your breath to the chosen chakra, then as you exhale allow consciousness and understanding to sink into the chakra.

  • Journaling

Journaling is an excellent way to promote healing of any kind. Taking the time to sit with yourself and let your thoughts pour out- judgement free- allows you to truly reflect on what’s going on.

When it comes to journaling in order to heal and balance the chakras, here are a myriad of journal prompts for each specific chakra that might be feeling out of whack.

  • Visualization

Visualization is a powerful tool to manifest the things you want in life. It can also help when it comes to unblocking your chakras! Sit with a clear head before you get started. Then, try to visualize images, scenes or scenarios that symbolize love or happiness.

The images should be meaningful to you, and no visualization is ever wrong, as long as it provokes these feelings of contentment within you.

You can even get more specific and creative depending on which chakra or chakras are feeling out of balance. Use visuals that correspond to the specific feelings related to the blockages.

  • Go outside

The healing benefits of nature are well-documented . Being outside not only has the power to relieve stress and anxiety, improve memory, focus, creativity and more, but connecting yourself to the earth also has internal healing benefits as well.

Try to go barefoot and walk or sit in the grass to establish a connection with the earth, ground yourself and let the power of nature restore balance to your chakras.

  • Guided meditation

Sometimes it helps to get out of your own head and have someone else guide you in a meditation. There are plenty on Youtube and Spotify to choose from!

Look for a guided meditation, like this one, that is specifically meant to cleanse the chakras and restore balance within them.

  • Practice Gratitude

Another research-backed internal healing process is simply practicing the art of being grateful. Studies have found that those who take time to practice gratitude are not only happier, but also have higher self-esteem, sleep better, are better equipped to deal with adversity and build stronger relationships.

When it comes to gratitude and the chakras, its all about raising your vibrations. When you’re grateful, you vibrate at a higher frequency, which helps to open and balance the chakras and thus attract even more things to be grateful for.
