How does Sentinel Leisure Trust use Virtuagym’s software?

In 2018, Sentinel Leisure, a trust that manages a variety of UK-based leisure facilities, announced its partnership with Virtuagym to build online community groups to boost member engagement and interaction around the trust’s facilities.

Chris Ames, Director of Business Development at SLT Group said: “Our #thecompleteyou app is now split between our facility members portal and new community portal. We are utilising the traditional Virtuagym model to still actively engage our members using the site specific portals within #thecompleteyou. Our new community (SLT Group Community) portal is FREE for anyone. The free community enables users to sign up and access free content, community groups, find local, like-minded people, and more. Users can also upgrade to our PRO service which includes additional nutritional support and home workouts.”

From the beginning, the goal was to set up online community groups to create better interaction between gym staff and members. Staff could also share their health and fitness knowledge with members across all of the trust’s facilities.

“The two-pronged approach [of a mobile and community portal] allows us to interact with our current paying facility members and also begin to reach the wider community who are sometimes harder to reach. The mobile strategy allows us to engage with users across the county and challenge them to better themselves. Our community portal allows us to reach these people who perhaps need the extra support in making positive lifestyle changes and also changing their behaviours in everyday life.”
