What once started as a closed training space for employees of a successful security company has grown into a fully fledged public fitness studio. Open to young and old, beginners and experienced athletes.
During the pandemic, JB Athletics was allowed to stay open because it was used as an internal training facility. When the previous owner stepped away, the team decided to take over with the idea that they could always continue as an internal gym if needed.
“We said to each other: if everything goes wrong, we’ll just keep using it internally. But we were lucky. The lockdowns ended, and we were able to turn it into a full fledged fitness studio.”

The concept changed completely. What started as a studio focused mainly on bodybuilders became an accessible place for all generations. As a result, the demands around organization, payments, and member management increased.
The goal was clear: more efficiency, less administrative work, and a digital infrastructure that can grow along with the studio.

One of the biggest improvements was the introduction of automated accounts receivable management . Previously, collecting membership fees was a major burden. Bank details were entered manually, payments had to be checked one by one, and chargebacks were a constant issue.
“We were both spending entire days doing nothing but entering data. One incorrect bank account number and everything turned into chaos.”
Today, everything at JB Athletics runs fully automated. From membership fee collection to payment reminders. A smart detail is that when a direct debit fails, the system automatically retries after 10 to 14 days, aligned with different salary payment dates.
“We used to collect payments on the 5th of the month, but many members hadn’t received their salary yet. Now Virtuagym’s automatic collection retries on the 15th, and suddenly about 20% more payments go through.”

Modernized studio access
Check-in now works via a QR code in your dedicated fully branded mobile app , fully connected to the access control system. What makes this unique is that members can create their account directly in the app, without first having to go through a website.
“Young people handle everything on their phone these days. They barely visit websites anymore. That’s why we integrated account creation directly into the app.”
The app delivers a modern user experience, with direct access to the studio, a clear digital overview of memberships, and fully mobile account management.

JB Athletics is currently in a renovation phase, with new training zones and plans to further expand its offering.
